Richard Nixon Presidential Library
A nine-acre presidential library and museum dedicated on July 19, 1990, jointly operated by the National Archives and Records Administration and the Richard Nixon Foundation.
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library sits on a nine-acre campus at 18001 Yorba Linda Boulevard. Ground was broken for the facility in December 1988 by Julie Nixon Eisenhower, the youngest daughter of President and Mrs. Nixon, and the dedication ceremony took place on July 19, 1990. The original construction cost was approximately $25 million, funded entirely by private sources. On July 11, 2007, the National Archives officially welcomed the library into the federal system, and it is now jointly operated by the National Archives and Records Administration and the Richard Nixon Foundation.
The library campus incorporates several historic elements, including President Nixon's birthplace, designated as a National Historic Landmark. The facility serves as both a museum and research center with exhibitions, educational programs, and archival services. A $15 million renovation undertaken in 2016 was also funded through private sources, allowing the library to continue its mission of preserving and providing access to materials related to the Nixon presidency.
