No-exam life insurance
Eligibility for rapid underwriting, the mechanics of the process, and what happens if you do not qualify.
Numerous carriers today provide expedited underwriting: for applicants meeting specific age and coverage thresholds, they render decisions by reviewing your application, prescription records, driving history and similar information instead of ordering a paramedical examination. Some approvals arrive within hours. Each quote displayed here indicates whether the product mandates an exam, may require one, or does not require one.
What it changes
Bypassing the exam does not bypass underwriting scrutiny. Your statements undergo verification, and a policy granted based on false information can be challenged in the first twenty-four months. If the carrier identifies concerns through its research, it may request exams or lab results anyway; you maintain the option to proceed or withdraw.
Who tends to qualify
Ordinarily, applicants younger than approximately 60, requesting amounts within the carrier's program cap, without significant health conditions, and having abstained from tobacco for a year or longer qualify. Certain carriers will substitute recent blood work from a doctor's visit for a paramedical exam.
If an exam is needed, a paramedic typically visits your home or workplace in the Yorba Linda region for roughly twenty to thirty minutes, with no charge to you. For applicants in good health, exam results frequently lead to a better rate classification, so the exam can work in your favor.
